Letter by Daystar graduate Mark Wachira to his sponsors:

I wish to extend my gratitude for this wonderful gift that you have given me (college education). I miss words to express how grateful I am.

This semester marks the end of my four-year program in Daystar University. I am very grateful for how far the Lord has brought me, providing miraculously and guiding me through my journey. My parents are also grateful for the kindness you have shown to them, through me.... One thing I have come to learn is that God wants us Christians to influence the world through all the channels, economic, political or environmental. I myself seek to influence the world from the organization that God will place me following my graduation.

I hope to work with development oriented organization or one that addresses the plight of the needy.

Finally, I wish to say thank you since my life at Daystar is a testimony and a lesson of how God works in miraculous ways.

Delivering the keynote address, the Chief guest, Mr. Graham Fairbairn, commended the graduands for the their declaration of purpose as stated in the Class Theme: Why we Can't Wait.

"In this title I hear a statement of intent and hope," said Mr. Fairbairn. He cited political, economic, sociological and environmental factors as reasons why change must take place in Africa.

Letter from Daystar graduate Hellen Nyambura to her sponsors.

It is exciting to be in the final lap of my undergraduate race! As I reflect back on my four years at Daystar, I see God's hand. He has blessed me beyond measure. I would have dropped out of school years ago for lack of tuition fees. Through your gifts to Daystar University, I am able to take my final exams as an undergraduate. God bless you!!

God continues to place a burden for me for street children. There are thousands of them in Nairobi, our capital city. Our government has no social system to take care of the poorest of the poor. So the care of these children is left to a few ill financed non-governmental organziations. Please pray for my country and Africa in general.

Remember to thank God for your freedom of worhsip and for all the other blessings that God has showered you with. I am thankful that God has used you to bless my life in a manner that you would never fathom. God Bless you!
