Daystar University Radio Program

Daystar
University's Studios Updated (2002)

Paul Harkness, manager of radio station KDNW in Duluth (one of Northwestern College radio stations), Mn spent a couple weeks at Daystar University's Athi River campus working with the Communications Department. Paul assisted in the set-up of five recording studios, trained students and staff in digital editing and is currently assisting in the development of Daystar University's student radio station (hopefully to be up and on the air by May 2003!).

We are very grateful to Paul, KDNW, Northwestern College / KTIS Radio and others for all of the assistance they have given to Daystar University!! We praise the Lord for His provision and for bringing these wonderful friends to Daystar!

Update from Paul:

Northwestern College Radio was seeking to raise an additional $20,000 above our own station's needs toward the purchase of the necessary computers, transmitters, and hardware to get Daystar-FM on the air by May 2003. Most of our stations participated in this project to raise the money for Phase 2 of the Daystar project. I am happy to say that this goal has been mostly met! We are now assembling the necessary hardware list that we worked out together and the pricing so that the equipment can be purchased in the first quarter of 2003. We need to continue to work together on the programming for the student station and ways we can be of help to see this new opportunity to come into being. There is much to do in the days ahead and we are happy to partner with Daystar to see this goal accomplished for the Kingdom of God.

One of the Daystar University commuications majors trying out the new studio
New friends in the new communications labs (Paul's son Nathan is in the middle)
A Daystar student trying out his new digital editing skills
Harrison and Perminus (DU staff members) move students from one tiny recording booth to five fully functional digital studios
New, exciting things to learn as these students hope to make a difference for Christ over the airwaves!
Paul, Arnold, and James are a few of the promising new world class communicators Daystar is preparing to reach this generation and the next with excellence.
