I grew up in a large family of eleven children where I am the sixth born. I praise God that all my immediate family members except one are alive especially as our country has been war- torn for many years. My father works as a technician in a telephone company and as such, he was able to educate us. My mother is a home maker. I came to know the Lord as Saviour through my fiancee, Laban who later in August 2000 became my husband. We have been blessed with two children. A year after our marriage, my husband who had worked as a civil servant felt the call of God upon his life and he decided that he would pursue further studies in Bible and Theology. He left me in Burundi and came to study at Daystar. I later joined him and together we are now being prepared for service in our home country. Before coming to Kenya, I served as an elder and women and youth leader with my church. Looking back, I now recognize the great need for trained christian leadership in Burundi. I am using the opportunity that God has granted me to be equipped and ready to go back and participate in the rebuilding of my dear country that has suffered the ravages of tribal war. I believe that Daystar is the right place for me for I will be trained academically and also helped to grow as a christian. Upon graduation, I intend to start community development projects in my home church so that Christian believers are empowered not only spiritually but also physically and materially. |
