Afrizo Update:
The Afrizo team drove over 9,000 miles, visited 28 states, sang in over 40 churches, and they connected with thousands of people across the country. The tour raised over $250,000 for scholarships, and the gifts are still coming in. Thanks for praying them through their 3-month tour! |

Daystar University in Nairobi, Kenya sent its African gospel style musical group, Afrizo to sing in concerts across the U.S. in fall 2011. Afrizo sings music from South, Central, and East Africa, drawing on rich African traditions. The group was able to help raise funds for scholarships to send promising young people to attend Daystar University.
On their third U.S. tour, Afrizo visited Minnesota, Oregon, Illinois, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Arizona, and California.
Afrizo is made up of Daystar students and is led by Daystar University staff member Hellen Mtawali. Their music combines English, Swahili, and other African languages, dance, and story-telling about how Daystar is equipping servant leaders for Africa.
