Daystar Ambassadors
What is an Ambassador? One of the primary objectives of the Daystar Ambassador program is to further develop a Christian ministry with churches by offering an opportunity for churches to fulfill God’s Great Commission. The Daystar U.S. Ambassador program offers representatives of local churches an opportunity to further organize and lead mission teams to Africa. The Ambassadorship program allows teams to work in projects that have been initiate by or where there are Daystar University graduates. The Ambassador program emphasizes the importance of Christian higher education as a crucial factor in spreading the Word and developing a Christian vision for the future of Africa. In 2003, 496 students graduated from Daystar University who are now joining the over 9000 Daystar graduates who are working on developing Africa into nations of Christian ethics and morality In order to achieve this level of commitment, churches have to be involved and dedicated to the mission statement of Daystar University. The mission of the University shall be: a) to provide Christian-based higher education,
training and research for the expansion
of God’s kingdom in the world, and especially Africa.
b) to provide broad biblically based education programs that will develop men and women to serve in a variety of supportive and leadership roles in the African church and society, and through the training and extension programs, research and advisory services, to help equip the church to effectively serve the society in which it exists. Daystar U.S. has an obligation
to communicate the Mission of Daystar University.
The suggested process to develop new or renew relationships is to: 1) Initiate contact, by letter or phone conversation, to inform the church of the purpose of Daystar University and the impact graduates are having on the future of Africa. In this contact, the church is given an opportunity to participate in this incredible vision. 2) Send out newsletters informing the church of the accomplishments
of the University, the needs of the students, and the impact of the graduates.
4) Distribute information thru letters, newsletters and/or on the Mission bulletin board. We need your help in developing communication between Daystar and the churches in your area. As an Ambassador you can initiate a mission trip program. The initial responsibility of the Ambassador is to develop an interest among people in your area to travel to Africa and associate with the Daystar administrators, students, and graduates. |
