A Bishop from Uganda thus unequivocally states one of the primary problems of Africa: Inadequate training opportunities for training exemplary leaders who are morally upright, spiritually sound and academically qualified.

Daystar provides a broad-based, biblically oriented approach to training men and women for more effective service in church and society without the culturally disruptive and prohibitive cost of overseas training.

Daystar has a two-fold mission:

* First, to help church and missionary organizations increase their effectiveness in communicating Christ to the culturally diverse societies of Africa.

* Second, to provide a university-level educational center where Christians throughout Africa can earn accredited degrees and be equipped as men and women of integrity.

Daystar is currently the only accredited evangelical Christian, liberal arts college in all of Black, English-speaking Africa. It is recognized by Christian leaders around the world as having a strategic role in educating those who will shape the lives of both the church and society across the continent.

The dramatic growth in its enrollment to almost 2,000 students in degree programs is both evidence of a great need and recognition that Daystar plays a crucial role in providing a broad-based, biblically oriented education.
