My name is Sebastian Mwanza, and I am a Kenyan citizen, the second born in a family of 10. I am born again and I come from a very humble background. Both my parents are illiterate and unemployed making them unstable economically. This far, I can say we have been able to live by the grace of God. God is still enthroned.
I came to Daystar by faith to take a B.A in Communication. I had to combine two loans by the Higher Education Loans Board to start my education here in August 2003. I took only 12 credit hours because that was all I had money for. I have been out of session for seven semesters, so I have had numerous opportunities of giving up. There were times I thought it was over but I reminded myself that it is not over until God says it is over. Again and again I have resolved to forge forward despite the many obstacles towards my dream. I will forever be grateful to God for giving me time out of university because what I learned while out of school I could not have learned in any other way. Today I know that. Then I did not know. My faith was lifted and my dependency on God was strengthened.
The vision the Lord has placed in my heart is so big that unless he intervenes I will never achieve it. I want by the grace of God to be a beacon of light and hope to my family, society, church, and country. I want to venture into the world of Communication and Public Relations. I plan to empower the church, starting with my own local church, to rise above mediocrity and have dominion over the creation. Africa as a continent needs strong, dynamic and courageous leadership, which I hope to help offer.
During my time at Daystar God has given me the grace to serve Him in various ways through Daystar Christian Fellowship (DCF). I have been quite involved in the Missions & Outreach team, which seeks to save souls for Christ as we fulfill the great Commission of Jesus Christ. I continue to serve the Lord with a passion because of what he can do.
