If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.
James 1:5
I was thinking about how in Minnesota we get a couple different times of year when we can naturally “reset.” I think of seasons: spring is an excellent time to start over as we watch the renewal of the earth, fall – like the school year starting is another good time to re-evaluate. Some folks think of their birthday as a time for a reboot. Of course, the start of the new year is a great time to make a fresh start. Sometimes we think of ways to start over that are physical – like going to the gym regularly. (Not a bad idea.) Maybe a new mental or even spiritual habit is a great area to rejuvenate. I know it’s hard to start things in the dead of winter (at least in Minnesota) but here’s an option for you:
The Daystar U.S. Christmas card this year had a prayer bookmark enclosed with 12 ways you can pray for Daystar students this year. These correspond with each month. You are invited to join us in praying for them, the staff and faculty, and really anyone you care about.
These prayer topics are laid out with students in mind. In January we are asking you to join us in praying for wisdom for the Daystar students. Please ask the Lord to impart wisdom as they study and learn in their classes, as they begin to apply critical thinking for problem-solving. Remember the students as they balance school, work, family and friends. Pray as they make crucial decisions about their future. Many of our graduates from November 2025 are looking for work, please ask God for wisdom as they job-hunt.
James 1:5 says: “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.” We have confidence that God will give wisdom if we just ask.
If you didn’t get a bookmark, or want another, please contact me in the Daystar U.S. office to obtain one. As always, if you have a prayer request you would like to share with us, please email us back and let us know how we can join you in prayer this month. Our prayer email address: prayer@daystarus.org.
