Lucy Mirishoi. The Victor

Lucy is a recent graduate of Daystar. She had started at a different university but ran out of funds for tuition when a friend told her about Daystar. “Daystar became like family to me! It influenced every part of my life.” She was hungry for that change. Through the scholarship program Lucy was able to complete a degree in Actuarial Science, so she could get a good job.

But Lucy wants to do more than provide for herself. She started a small community based organization to help girls from her community. Lucy is Maasai. Many Maasai girls are forced to marry at a young age, they aren’t likely to finish high school and rarely get to college. Because her mother is a believer, Lucy beat the odds. In fact Lucy’s name, Mirishoi means winner or victor! Now she wants to help other Maasai girls get through school and escape early marriage. She’s started a small community based organization called Mirishoi to reach out providing information and hygiene products to help girls in her home county. Through Daystar she was able to turn her whole life around! Now she’s helping others in her community. Please pray for a good job in her field so she can support her organization.
