Light in dark places

"You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven."
Matthew 5: 14-16

Hello Daystar friends,

With so much suffering and harm from shutdowns in Kenya and at Daystar, it is hard not to become discouraged and hopeless. In many ways, circumstances continue to worsen with government restrictions. With poverty and suffering growing daily then more and more Daystar students are not able to afford tuition and Daystar struggles to pay faculty and staff with little incoming revenue stream.

But God is still at work! Even in these difficult days, God is working for good. He has opened up new opportunities during the COVID-19 pandemic for Daystar. While thousands of university students across Africa are unable to complete their education at this time, God has opened a door for Daystar to be one of only four schools in Kenya with online access. Daystar is the only university open for nursing education in Kenya during this COVID-19 crisis - all other nursing programs are closed.
