I have not stopped thanking God for you"

Ok, yes I do realize that 2021 is already almost 14 days old, but it still seems new to me (maybe because I rarely have a need to write 2021 – not like the old days when we used checks more often).  I have noticed this year that many people have forgone New Year’s resolutions and taken a “word for the year” – words such as “intentionality” or “joy”.  Choosing a word of the year is an interesting practice that makes one think.  If I was to choose a word for the year, or maybe for this month, it would be “gratitude”.  If we remember all of the blessings that God has given to us (count our blessings) we realize that we do have so many things for which to be thankful.

We are very thankful for:

  • God’s protection during this difficult time

  • Daystar University’s doors are still open and students’ lives are being transformed

  • Classes resuming this semester (some in person, many still online)

  • More than 600 new students joining Daystar University this week!

  • You! We are so very thankful for so many who pray for us, advise us and support the mission financially.

A verse comes to mind, “Ever since I first heard of your strong faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for God’s people everywhere, I have not stopped thanking God for you…” (Ephesians 1:15-16a, NLT). The next few verses become a prayer, which I would like to pray for each of you:  “I pray for you constantly, asking God, the glorious Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, to give you spiritual wisdom and insight so that you might grow in your knowledge of God. I pray that your hearts will be flooded with light so that you can understand the confident hope he has given to those he called—his holy people who are his rich and glorious inheritance.” (Ephesians 1:16b-18, NLT)

Thank you for being part of the Daystar family. We are grateful for each of you!  If you have a specific prayer request please let me know and our Daystar U.S. team will lift you up in prayer.

Blessings,

Alan
