You did it! Nursing Equipment Funded!

So many of you responded to our email regarding the Nursing program and nursing equipment that is needed. Thank you! The nursing program is so very important, as not only are nurses needed during a pandemic, but in Kenya there are not many doctors; nurses fill in the gap. Daystar University’s School of Nursing also adds the critical piece, which is Christ-centered servant leadership.

The goal has been reached! Many of you gave generously to fund the $125,000 that was needed! We are working with a local non-profit who specializes in medical equipment. They are working on getting the equipment and then packing it for ocean freight shipment (the container is 8’ high, 8’ wide and 40’ long!). They hope to have the container on the way by mid-October and we hope that it will arrive by the end of the year. This would allow it to be installed and fully functional for the January semester.

This equipment (for a nursing skills lab for the Athi River campus) provides great momentum for the future of the Nursing school! President Laban sees this program becoming a flagship program with a great impact on Africa for years to come.
