Scholarship Students Grateful for
Your Support During a Challenging Year

Covid-19 has been the most surprising thing, because it threw us all in disarray and caused us to unlearn and learn new things. One quickly had to adapt to the changes and keep a positive outlook. In this season my perspective and understanding of God has also been altered. I have seen the Lord’s providence as He was with the children of Israel in the wilderness. In the month of July 2020, I received financial support (hardship allowance) at the 11th hour from Daystar U.S. through you. Thank you for your sacrifice of love!

I was involved in food distribution in my community during this period and noticed that many people are going through rough times and most of them have no food. Thank you so much for supporting me and helping me in achieving my dreams. You have been like a star that shines at night and I am so grateful for that light. May God bless you exceedingly and abundantly. You encourage me to be a light to people’s “darkness”. I really appreciate your efforts. Thank you so much. God bless you.

For the four years I have been in Daystar, I have learned a lot and gained many skills. I am grateful to have had the opportunity to work at the campus radio station, Shine FM, as well as the hospitality department in Daystar Campus Fellowship. Through experimenting, I have gained communication skills, writing skills, customer service skills, critical thinking skills and so much more. I incorporated these skills in my internship as a social media manager and content creator. With the experience I gained in school I was able to work efficiently. Being at Daystar, I have been able to understand that servant leadership as well as transformation comes in different forms. Recently, I have been making a difference in my friends’ and family’s lives by being supportive in the best way possible. I have also been practicing more compassion and empathy towards others and myself.

Graduation! I am so overwhelmed by thoughts of it. I could not imagine such a thing five years ago. Thank you so much. Back in 2016, I had hope of joining a university that would nurture me in a godly way but the school fees were very difficult. Daystar University came at the right moment through the Scholarship program. I did not expect to be chosen; but God had plans for me. I got a chance to study Actuarial Science, not because I was good at mathematics but because I never had many options. It turned out that Actuarial Science is what I wanted, what suits me best and what makes me happy. Thanks be to God. For some reason, God helped me so much that I was able to understand the course in depth. Initially, I concentrated on grades, later when I comprehended the beauty of the course, I loved it and became grateful to God for giving me the opportunity

Only God knows what lies ahead for me after I graduate. The Bible reminds me to not be anxious, but in every situation, be prayerful and petition with thanksgiving, to present my requests to God. I plan to sit for a board exam for the Public Health Officers and Technician Council and then apply for a one-year internship. I always thank God for you. You have walked with me throughout my student life paying for my school fees, giving me allowances and praying for me and my family. I will always appreciate the generous support you have given me and other less privileged students.
